"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." -Albert Einstein

I am a third grade teacher in the Midwest. I am currently participating in the CADRE Project at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for the 2014- 2015 school year. The CADRE Project is a Master's Program that allows its members to earn a Master's Degree in Education while completing their first year of teaching. This year has been an amazing year full of ups and downs and everything in between!

Through my action research, I have learned about new strategies to help my students grow in many aspects of their educational experience. I conducted a 7 week study with my third grade classroom on the effectiveness of context clues in reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and confidence in the reading workshop. The purpose of my study was to determine if the strategy of using context clues improves students' reading comprehension.
